Neutral bremsstrahlung electroluminescence in noble liquids

چکیده

Abstract Proportional electroluminescence (EL) is the physical effect used in two-phase dark matter detectors, to optically record gas phase ionization signal produced by particle scattering liquid phase. In our previous works presence of a new EL mechanism noble gases, namely that neutral bremsstrahlung (NBrS), was demonstrated both theoretically and experimentally, addition ordinary due excimer emission. this work we show similar theoretical approach can apply liquids, helium, neon, argon, krypton xenon. particular, photon yields spectra for NBrS liquids have been calculated first time, using electron energy transport parameters obtained framework Cohen-Lekner Atrazhev theory. The relevance results development detectors searches neutrino experiments discussed.

Bremsstrahlung of nitrogen and noble gases in single-bubble sonoluminescence

A hydrodynamic model, discussing neutral gases as well as plasmas, is applied to simulate single-bubble sonoluminescence. In this model, thermal conduction and various inelastic impact processes such as dissociation, ionization, and recombination are considered. Bremsstrahlung is assumed as the mechanism of the picosecond light pulse in sonoluminescence. Diatomic nitrogen and noble gas bubbles ...

Experimental Determination Op Th2 Cross Section Por Neutral Bremsstrahlung

i : The low energy cross sections for neutral Brems Strahlung for the major species of high temperature Air-O, N, and N2 have been measured. The experiments were performed behind reflected shocks by measuring the absolute, infrared intensity of appropriate shock heated gas mixtures. The radiation was detected with a rapid scanning infrared spectrometer covering a total spectral range of 2. 0 5....

High-resolution electro-magnetic calorimetry with noble liquids

Electromagnetic calorimeters with noble liquids and their limits in resolution are discussed. The origins of “initial” current measurement in calorimetry are retraced and the performance and first results of the NA48 calorimeter (quasi-homogeneous calorimeter with longitudinal electrode structure) are presented. Results of the prototype calorimeters of KEDR (quasi-homogeneous calorimeter with t...

DARWIN: dark matter WIMP search with noble liquids

DARWIN (dark matter wimp search with noble liquids) is a design study for a nextgeneration, multi-ton dark matter detector in Europe. Liquid argon and/or liquid xenon are the target media for the direct detection of dark matter candidates in the form of weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs). Light and charge signals created by particle interactions in the active detector volume are obser...

A lowering of the activation energy for the movement of the defects in the neighbourhood of the dopant molecule could be the cause. It would mean that the area around a foreign molecule is quickly reorientat...
